Pathogen Genomics Division of the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Flagstaff, Arizona. Assisted in genomic epidemiologic surveillance. Involved with project design, development of research materials, field sampling, and serologic testing. Performed literature review and synthesized information from a variety of sources. Developed biosecurity assessment for USDA SARS-CoV-2 surveillance. Assisted in organizing the Southwest One Health Symposium. Involved with the development of educational and training materials, including outreach.

Researched the evolution of M. tuberculosis by utilizing whole genome and amplicon sequencing, leading to the identification of gene mutations for resistance to first- and second-line drugs. Assisted in building the global knowledge base on the Tuberculosis genome.

Responsible for collecting data from several different conservation research projects around Arizona and Utah. Tasks included pollinator identification, plant identification, garden upkeep, and data entry. The project’s objective was to identify native pollinator-plant relationships and the influences of climate change and desertification on native pollination behaviors and mechanisms.

Served as the Sustainability Liaison within the Resident Sustainability Program for the Ernest Calderon Learning Community at Northern Arizona University. I was responsible for planning sustainable initiatives and environmental educational opportunities within my building, including promoting responsible water and power use.
