Born and raised in a small town on the banks of the Ohio River, I can remember seeing the Delta Queen cruise by as a child wondering about all the places it would take its passengers. My first real taste of travel was in college when I ventured on a four month journey around the world on Semester at Sea. Standing at the foot of the pyramids in Egypt, hiking the back country of Sri Lanka, riding a train down the coast of Tiawan ... all left images that I will never forget. That opportunity to see parts of the world that many people will never experience left me with an appreciation for the beauty this world has to offer. Looking through my camera with these "blue eyes" and capturing images of unique scenery, people, places and things during that journey was the first time I realized how powerful pictures can be. They can tell a story ... make someone feel better ... bring a smile to someone's face ... remind someone of a special time or place.
