In this role I am responsible for development of new policy and programmes to deliver Greater Manchester’s exciting and ambitious agenda for our economy, to help drive up productivity, innovation and inclusive growth and an economy that works for the residents, businesses, and communities across the city-region.Part of the role is leading the city-region’s pioneering Foundational Economy Innovation Fund and related programmes, working with local leaders, businesses and entrepreneurs to develop new business models and unlock the dynamism in parts of the economy we see and feel every day.

I worked with the GM Combined Authority Economy team on a secondment basis to support the VCSE sector to play a greater role in the development of GM economic policy. This involves providing strategic and policy input to support the delivery of the programme and policy areas such as: the real Living Wage Campaign, the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, the Foundational Economy Innovation Fund and subsequent activity, the Social Enterprise Action Group (SEAG), the Journey to Net Zero programme, and the Inclusive Ownership Platform.

I led the Policy & Research team at GMCVO delivering the VCSE Accord implementation plan, focusing on championing, evidencing and building the VCSE sector's role in tackling inequalities and creating a more inclusive economy.

I lead on GMCVO's Health and Social Care VCSE Engagement Project, involving the VCSE sector in devolution of Health and Social Care in Greater Manchester. I manage the Greater Manchester Equality Alliance, a coalition of organisations taking a pan-equalities approach to tackling inequality, focusing on the intersections between different forms of inequality, channelling multiple perspectives and developing solutions through dialogue.
