The first was a $6M Alteration Installation Team project on a US Navy ship in Mayport, Fl. The difficulty in this task was that it was out of area, required over 125 AMSEC employees and numerous resources (personnel, equipment, etc.) from six subcontractors and the second time when she was pulled into a falling project at a repair facility AMSEC ran for the government. In both cases she was nothing but flawless. The coordination required on the first project was extremely time consuming, hours were long, and the industrial environment was hard. As the Project manager she was not only responsible for the project completion, but for the quality control over all the equipment installations and testing. Installations were on time, accurate and met Government and operational requirements - testing proceeded in the same manner meeting all Government requirements the first time. The second project was a Material Handling Equipment (MHE) refurbishment and repair facility AMSEC operated for the Government. The work was not meeting Government standards for quality. She pulled together a team, put the right people on-site, and in charge, and soon had the facility meeting Government acceptance standards. Recently, I have worked with Beth in her position as Director of Process Improvement responsible for AMSEC's Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001:2008 certification. She determined the company needed someone with outside quality management background and hired an experienced quality manager from a large international corporation to help analyze business processes and revise and improve procedures, and internal process. Her expertise and initiative resulted in improved, repeatable processes within the organization, 100% success on external audit compliance and re-certification of AMSEC's ISO 9001:2008 standard; all critical to the company’s Government contracts.
