Administered an annual $40M grant portfolio promoting STEM education, with funding focused on improving student outcomes, reaching underserved populations, and developing qualified teachers in math and science. Managed partnerships with other major education funders including from corporations (Boeing, GE) and family foundations (Bill & Melinda Gates, Hewlett, Helmsley, and O’Donnell). Represented ExxonMobil at key convenings of the Clinton Global Initiative, Education Nation, Grantmakers in Education, The Conference Board, and Collaborative for Student Success. • Aligned grant funding with corporate STEM investments and established consistent criteria for evaluating grant proposals and reporting results.• Secured $60M, multi-year grant for an existing grantee to expand college readiness program to three new geographies, positively impacting thousands of students.• Effectively leveraged ExxonMobil’s commitment to workforce development and reputation as an “employer of choice” to advocate for high state educational standards, including Common Core.• Supported professional development of 500+ teachers through the implementation of a classroom application and online learning center to promote sharing of best practices.

Administered an annual $10M international grant portfolio focusing on improving women’s economic stability in developing countries, including Egypt, Chad, Cameroon, Nigeria, Tanzania, Indonesia, and parts of the Middle East. Cultivated and maintained collaborative relationships with the U.S. State Department, Vital Voices, U.N. Served as communications lead for the fuels division supporting 800+ company-owned stores and thousands of distributor and franchise operations. Oversaw all aspects of public affairs and governmental relations; crafted messages developed media responses, and handled community engagement. Highlights included:• Spearheaded communication planning in 12 markets to support the organization’s conversion from company-operated retail fuel stations to distributor-operated.• Successfully administered an annual $2M grant program (Educational Alliance Program), partnering 4,000 retail stations with local schools. • Provided ongoing community relations leadership in neighborhoods undergoing environmental remediation: represented company at community gatherings and coordinated timely community project updates, including key technical information to address residents’ questions and concerns.
