I am a freelance writer with 25+ years of expertise developing content for a range of projects, including directing company/client communications, writing/updating resumes, career-readiness training & instruction, website content, blogs, email & social media campaigns, K-3 educational curriculum (SE, TE, video scripts), and basically any endeavor that involves writing and a visual component. I understand the importance of knowing my audience, and I shift my writing style accordingly for every client. I’m a stickler for accuracy, correct grammar, and presentation. What I Do:★ CAREER-READINESS PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT★As Director of Communications & Content Development at InternWorks, I write and edit content for our career-readiness educational components, including digital educational workbooks, presentations, and other instructional materials for students enrolled in our internship programs. Additionally, I designed the entire internal and external communications structure, creating targeted channels of information sharing for staff, students, and employer partners. ★ RESUME WRITER & CONSULTANT ★ Writing (or updating) a resume can be daunting. My job is to remove (most of) the pain. Clients often struggle with articulating their skills, talent, and experiences to convey their marketability. As a writer, I craft accurate and effective resume language. As a consultant, my approach is collaborative, so I ask questions, dig into experiences, and identify skills and accomplishments. My clients leave with a clear understanding of their professional brand. I am also a go-to for LinkedIn profile development/optimization--a key component in a career tool kit.★ EDUCATIONAL PUBLISHING ★20+ years of experience developing curriculum components for major educational publishers. I specialize in writing content for K-2 science, social studies, and language arts. Fav project: creating phenomena-based interactive 3-D learning/assessment science lessons, video scripts, and teacher support designed for NGSS. ★ OTHER CREATIVE ENDEAVORS ★When done right, words and graphics belong together. I've created digital portfolios, basic websites (no coding), ads, photo books, and videos.
