  • United Catalyst, Llc.--Cellulose Hydrolyzing Imprinted Polymers (Chips)
President--Early Stage Start-Up Based Upon Technology Licensed From The University Of Pennsylvania
United Catalyst, Llc.--Cellulose Hydrolyzing Imprinted Polymers (Chips) Jul 2011 - Feb 2016
Beth led the start-up business formation, HR and legal operations as well as crafting the business' strategy including strategic partnerships. She also created financial models and secured two rounds of fund raising for over four years of company operations (including Golden Seeds Angel Investors NYC Chapter, and Shell Oil & Gas Corporation). United Catalyst, LLC, located in Princeton Corp Plaza--a BioTech Hub and Research Center, along "Einstein Alley" in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, was an early stage novel bio-fuel processing technology company with six employees and a portfolio of numerous patent applications, and two awarded patents. Beth was responsible for crafting the value proposition, developing business models and negotiating strategic agreements with key partners including: a catalyst manufacturing partner; licensees for process technology and three key end users. Following the drop in oil prices of 2014-15, the appetite for investment in biofuel processing wained, and it became evident that United Catalyst, LLC., could no longer raise the capital necessary to scale CHIPs technology to the next stage of development toward commercialization. In early 2016, United Catalyst's assets were sold to its intended catalyst manufacturing partner. Marjorie Hart investor representative and mentor from Golden Seeds, worked closely with Stewart on final the asset sale and dissolution of the business.
