Governance and advisory Elected member of University of Bristol Court: questioning and commenting on any aspect of the University’s business (especially Board of Trustees’ and Executive Group’s strategies, and financial statements). Trustee of the British School at Rome: governance, finance and budgetary oversight; committees of BSR Council (currently Finance and Audit, and Nominations); leading on diversifying Council. Heritage conservation, development, and presentation Chair of the University of Bristol’s Public Art Advisory Panel: commissioning and contracting of art in public spaces (incl. new University Library, and new campus at Temple Quarter); liaising with contractors, university and other stakeholders. Member of the University’s Heritage and Public Art Committee: maintenance and promotion of cultural collections; public engagement; advising on matters relating to collections, heritage, history within the university. Chair of Bristol Cathedral Fabric Advisory Committee: advising Dean and Chapter on conservation of historic buildings; planning and development (including issues and processes particular to ecclesiastical buildings); advising on commemoration and contested heritage.
