Beth is an Arizona native, born and raised in Yuma. She earned a Bachelor's of Music Education from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. Following college, Beth worked closely with schools in instrument sales and repair but during this time also took a strong interest in nutrition as she began to use plant-based food as medicine to support her health. An opportunity to gain hands-on experience presented itself, so Beth moved to Seattle, WA and spent a year serving in a non-profit that provides medically-specific food to people living with chronic illness. Following that opportunity, she returned to Arizona to complete a year of service with FoodCorps and was partnered with the Cartwright School District #83 where she could focus on a more preventative approach to nutrition. Upon completion of her service year, Beth was hired as Cartwright’s first Garden Education Coordinator to continue working on the district initiative to work together with community to connect kids to healthy food in schools.
