Management of staff in the areas of planning and GIS services. Duties include coordination of prioritization of projects, budgets, staffing, and other management tasks. Provide oversight to senior staff on planning projects and initiatives. Manage and contribute to community planning projects including, economic and community development, infrastructure, comprehensive planning, downtown revitalization, broadband and construction. Advance planning and construction projects by obtaining and administering funding. Management of grant program through the Broome County Community Improvement Grants under the Marketing and Economic Development and Small Community Fund programs.

Primary role is to manage and contribute to community planning projects including, hazard mitigation, water resources, parks and recreation, waterfront revitalization, comprehensive planning, downtown revitalization, and natural resources and to advance planning and construction projects by obtaining and administering funding. Specific tasks include hiring and managing contractors, contract and budget administration, supervision of subordinates, and coordination of involved County and partner agencies.I also manage ongoing programs including Go All Out Broome County and the Climate Smart Communities Program. Other duties include assisting County departments and local municipalities in complying with land use and environmental regulations, providing staff support for various boards, and partnership coordination.

As Planner major tasks included project management, along with grant acquisition and administration for planning projects, as well as assisting senior level staff with larger scale projects. Areas of focus included consolidation of services, water resource management, hazard mitigation, and others. Other duties included assessment of development proposals received per NYS General Municipal Law 239 l, m and n, providing comments on behalf of Broome County, as well as conducting environmental reviews for compliance with state and federal regulations, along with technical assistance in this area to County divisions and municipalities.

Assisted the Senior Environmental Planner. Tasks included staff support to the Environmental Management Council, environmental review of projects through the state mandated County review process, environmental and natural resource planning, environmental review for County projects, including compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, and development and implementation of environmental education programming.
