As strategic clinical lead of SET CAMHS services I have oversight of, and contribute to, the clinical development and operational functions of mental health teams within the service. Particular areas of focus for me are LAC/cared for cohorts, Crisis/Home Treatment/Brief admission services, Youth Justice Teams, and developing services in BCP with a focus on clinical quality to improve patient experiences. Children and young people who are referred to EWMHS have a range of presentations which would include: (for complex pathway) early presentation of psychosis, self-harm and suicidal ideation, extreme anxiety and other trauma related emotional difficulties. The role of pathway lead is to support the development and implementation of a range of groups and 1-1 therapies within the CYP IAPT model and as indicated by the EWMHS and NICE guidance. Role duties include:* Providing specialist assessments which will be used to inform suggested interventions with children, young people and their families as well as the networks supporting them.* Supporting/preventing hospital admissions and implementing community care plans where appropriate. * Care co-ordinating. * Delivering/overseeing a range of therapeutic interventions which may include parent work, group work and a range of 1:1 therapy approaches.* Ensuring that a high quality, timely, accessible and evidence-based service is available to children, young people and their families.* Providing consultation and training to a range of external agencies.* Facilitating and contributing as a senior member of the team to multidisciplinary decision making and case formulation as appropriate.* Supporting the clinical team to deliver therapeutic interventions and overseeing pathway development through supervision, teaching, and mentoring. * Offering LAC consultations to social care.* Developing innovative strategies to support young people and their families.

Current RoleI currently work as a therapist/mental health practitioner for EWMHS (formally CAMHS) and my role specifically covers work with the Youth Offending Team (YOT). The YOT supports young people who have committed criminal offences, have been arrested, prosecuted and given a variety of court orders to complete in the community if a custodial sentence is not granted. Should they present with any Mental Health concerns they are referred to me for assessment, sign posting and where necessary therapeutic intervention.Responsibilities include:• Offering consultation to the Youth Offending Team and other professionals (including LAC consultations)• Delivering training to the YOT locality team and the wider service on topics such as trauma. I created and developed my own freelance service offering therapeutic intervention, Dramatherapy, and staff consultation to EBD schools and specialist schools in the Cambridgeshire area. This work involved engaging hard to reach children while establishing meaningful therapeutic relationships. The consultation service offered advice for complex cases to school staff or other professionals considering care plans for vulnerable children.
