Contractor: GHTASC, Public Health Institute, IncFP/RH Technical Advisor for USAID's Bureau of Global Health, Office of Population and Reproductive Health (PRH), Research, Technology, and Utilization division (RTU).I serve as technical lead for the implementation and scale-up of the High Impact Practices (HIP) in FP partnership with a focus on the service delivery and SBC HIPs, providing strategic planning and promoting collaboration with other donors and implementing partners using the HIPs. I am the Family Planning Liaison for several West and Central Africa Missions, providing FP/RH-focused technical expertise and leadership on program design, procurement development, activity implementation, strategic planning, compliance, program monitoring, and knowledge management. I co-lead USAID/Washington’s participation and technical engagement with the Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit, connecting with donors and implementers across West and Central Africa. I serve as the lead senior technical advisor for the Agency for All project, which is generating evidence around the role of agency in SBC FP/RH programming to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities. I also provide technical assistance to the Implementation Science Team within PRH’s RTU team, focused around FP/RH service delivery to various programs.

I served as technical advisor for family planning, postabortion care (PAC), social and behavior change (SBC), advocacy, and adolescent health projects and programming across West Africa and Bangladesh, collaborating with country teams to ensure that programs were technically sound, evidence-based and responsive to needs. I was the organizational technical lead for PAC programming, overseeing PAC strategy, country programming & collaboration. I provided experience as a workshop facilitator, curriculum designer, and trainer, including in SMART Advocacy, SBC, values clarification and attitude transformation (VCAT), and Human Centered Design. I was also co-investigator for multi-country project examining access to quality contraceptive implant removal services in Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and Tanzania and lead technical advisor for francophone countries. Additionally, I led formative research, SBC strategy, and technical implementation of Maternal and Child Survival Project activities promoting male engagement in family planning in Togo, including expansion of access to no scalpel vasectomy services.

Baltimore, Maryland Area

I served as the primary program backstop for activities in Burkina Faso, Togo, Haiti, Nigeria, regional UNFPA, and other activities during my tenure. I was the country programs’ consistent link to Baltimore and provided day-to-day problem solving, project and operations management, technical input and advice, budget development and review (annual budgets ranging from $100,000 to over $10 million), donor communications, business and proposal development, and writing needs as programs required. From January through July 2019, I served as interim acting Country Representative for Jhpiego Togo, overseeing all aspects of office functioning and projects, managing staff, leading in-country strategy, and responding to donor and headquarters needs. Beyond this, I spent significant time in-country, supporting project activities, including project start-up, monitoring and project management, study data collection, and proposal development. I worked with diverse donors including USAID, UNFPA, local donors, and private foundations.

I supported RMNCAH programs across the project lifecycle in Cameroon, Chad, Haiti, Guinea, Mali, and Nigeria, focused on family planning, malaria in pregnancy, HIV prevention, and pre-service education training and activities, and provided primary backstopping duties for FP activities in Togo. Also developed instructional design training content in collaboration with the Global Learning Office.

Baltimore, Maryland Area And Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire

I served as a research assistant providing technical assistance and data analysis for several quantitative and qualitative studies, including the Senegal Culture of Net Use Study, a formative research study to design the Reseaux television series about HIV and sexual risk behaviors among youth, an effectiveness study on the African Transformations project in Cote d'Ivoire, a NetWorks/Malaria Consortium paper on urban-based net distributions in Africa, and a study on HIV risk-taking among adolescent girls and their partners in Cote d’Ivoire. Additionally, I led the development of e-learning modules on monitoring and evaluation of malaria social and behavior change communication programs, co-authored three papers, and provided additional technical assistance where needed.

Thies, Senegal

Developed Life Skills curriculum on decision-making, reproductive health, and communication skills, based on Peace Corps and Plan Senegal resources, for out-of-school and at-risk youth and adolescents as part of the Youth Economic Empowerment Project.

Semur-En-Auxois, France

Worked as a native language interlocutor in 25 different high school English language classes in rural France. Prepared, delivered, and evaluated oral-based lessons with groups of 10-17 students in preparation for English language exams, focusing on American culture and US-France relations.

Thies, Senegal

Organized and led orientation and cross-culture training sessions for PC Senegal Trainees, developed and revamped cross-cultural training curriculum with PC staff members, and wrote several case studies and best practice guides. Collaborated with other PCVs and host country nationals to develop first-ever Serere-English dictionary for use by Peace Corps, including both printed and digital editions now used as a model for other PC Senegal language resources.

Ndiomdy, Senegal

Worked with my community to address relevant health issues in and around the community including maternal health, malaria, family planning, water and sanitation, breastfeeding, and nutrition. I worked with local teachers and resource persons to design and conduct middle school reproductive health programming.
