I enjoy collaborating with people from different fields and walks of life, because I believe everyone has a story to tell. During my twenty-year writing and editing career, I’ve helped others identify what they want to say and ensured their finished product meets their target audience where they are. Sometimes that means helping a subject matter expert create a standard operating procedure and form to document that a task has been completed correctly. Sometimes it’s creating instructions for use, a quick guide, or FAQs to help users grow comfortable with using new software. It can also mean editing a novel or short story to enhance an emotional connection with the reader.I’m a passionate storyteller who believes in inclusivity. I’m also a cheerleader who looks for ways to encourage clients and colleagues. I believe in boosting voices that may not always receive the attention they deserve. I’m a talkative introvert with experience working on projects alone and also presenting training to groups in a variety of formats. When it comes to learning something new, whether I’m the trainer or trainee, I believe in the importance of brevity, a good sense of humor, and continuous, incremental improvements.When not working, I enjoy hiking, researching unusual history, participating in half marathons, multiple sports fandoms, and volunteering with Treehouse, a charity in Seattle that supports children experiencing foster care.
