About Bethany Clark

I'm passionate about good writing--both in terms of creating it myself and in terms of helping others to create it. In college, composing creative pieces and critical essays and reading works by famous authors and my own classmates has taught me what good writing looks like. My work as an editor, a writing tutor, an adjunct English professor, and an editing intern, as well as my own hobby of writing for pleasure, has given me the opportunity to put into practice the idea of good writing.For me, good writing encompasses the technical aspects of correct grammar, wording, and formatting as well as creative, well-developed ideas--ideas that can take the form of critical arguments, characters, plots, narration, and descriptions. Combined with these broader concepts, my own natural tendency to notice the smallest details--the use of a particular word, the placement of a specific mark of punctuation--helps me to craft my own writing and allows me to help others shape their writing.My end goal is to always make a piece of writing the best that it can possibly be. I am not exaggerating when I say that reading and creating beautiful stories and essays brings me a deep joy.
