As a dedicated student in the Architecture – Project and Facility Management (APFM) program, I have developed a deep passion for architecture, encompassing its aesthetic qualities and the technical and operational aspects of building design. My journey began in grade 12 when I felt pressured to choose a definitive career path. Although I explored various architecture-related programs, it wasn't until I attended a Conestoga open house that I discovered the APFM program. The program's design and project management blend resonated with my interests, leading me to apply immediately.Throughout my first year, I embraced the program wholeheartedly, participating in volunteer activities to support incoming students, including open houses and Q&A sessions. I aim to share my enthusiasm and insights as I continue my studies, fostering community among my peers.The APFM program has deepened my understanding of buildings, pushing me to appreciate the intricate details contributing to functionality, efficiency, and sustainability. As I look forward to my co-op experiences and post-graduation opportunities, I am excited to apply my knowledge in real-world settings.While I'm still exploring the specific roles I may pursue after graduation, I'm confident that the diverse pathways available through the APFM program will help me discover my strengths and passions. My ultimate aim is to work in an environment that challenges me to grow, allowing me to contribute to projects that meet client needs and positively impact the communities we serve.
