As an Resident Advisor (RA) I dealt with roommate issues and mediated those problems by examining previously established roommate contracts. I created monthly bulletin boards and newsletters for my residents as well as door decorations for every one of residents, and staff members, at the beginning of every semester. I established and organized inclusive community. I planned, budgeted, marketed, and did the correct paperwork on time for programs for my community. I mentored new RA's in our Shark and Fish program. I was apart the RA Council Executive Board from August 2015 through February of 2016 after serving as a general member of the RA Council in the 2015-2016 academic calendar. As part of the job, I did spend one night per week and one weekend per month as the RA on duty which meant that I had the RA on call phone for a certain amount of time, responded to calls that ranged from a resident being locked out of their room to medical emergencies, and walked my community with my duty partner. I also had to spend time sitting at the front desk of my community to greet residents, sign guests in, and help establish good relationships with my residents and the other residents in my community. I also learned how to manage time effectively because I am a student and apart of other leadership organizations at my University.
