    I carried out a grant for $50,000 through No Kid Hungry. The action plan I created included marketing, program creation, and budget planning. I managed three sites across the county, and the team went from serving 30-50 meals a day to over 1000 a day to children in rural communities by the midpoint of the program. Program and material creation was created to be bilingual and ensure program continuity once the grant funds had ended.

    I managed the 75 year old institution’s significant collection of Central California artifacts. The collection includes 60 structures, specialized exhibits, art, photographs, documents, clothing, furniture, weapons, vehicles and cultural artifacts from indigenous people. The Museum is set on 16 scenic acres and is one of the largest museums in California. Responsibilities included working with a team of other professionals in areas such as marketing, events, education, maintenance and business under the supervision of the Executive Director. I also worked to develop and organize new collections, with the long term goal of expanding and improving educational programs. I continued the project of developing and organizing the new research center. I conducted extensive research on California history and continue to expand the museum’s collection through object acquisition. I worked with the Executive Director to maintain records and catalog acquisitions. I collaborated with other local, regional, state, national, and international institutions to conduct research on a variety of topics related to history in Kern County. I researched, compiled, and prepared written information and videos regarding the historical exhibits, structures, and processes by the Kern County Museum and it was available to the general public through social media. I ensured collects were properly preserved and protected. I worked with the Executive Director and directly raised funds through donor interaction and grants in support of expansion of the collection, update of facilities, and support of research efforts.
