Beth Chapman received her B.S. Degree in Communication Arts from the University of Montevallo and her M.A. in Education (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.She completed the Princeton University’s Women Executives in State Government Management Institute and Harvard University's Senior Executives in State and Local Government Institute. She was selected as a Toll Fellow by the Council of State Governments and elected by her peers across the country the serve as President of the National Association of Secretaries of States.Chapman has worked with multiple governmental agencies (state, local and federal) and has worked as a cabinet member and Appointments Secretary for a Governor and a Press Secretary for a Lt. Governor. She has been appointed to various state boards and commissions by four different Governors.She was elected State Auditor in 2002 where she served for four years producing 96% perfect audits among state agencies.She was twice elected Secretary of State garnering more votes than any other Constitutional Officer in state history and was elected as President of the National Association of Secretaries of State.After her husband's death in 2011, she retired from public office in 2013 to expand Beth Chapman & Associates, LLC, a political and public relations consulting firm. Chapman has organized statewide public relations campaigns for political candidates and non-profit organizations. She has worked with both sides of the political aisle to lobby for and pass meaningful legislation. She is a nationally recognized, award-winning writer, a public speaker and a leading authority in the political and public relations arena.
