As an Executive appointment, I was asked to lend my expertise and perspective on important topics of debate and work to ensure services for our most vulnerable community members are being considered. My focus is to be a voice for the community and endorse initiatives that aim to widen our communities’ access to food, shelter, childcare, emergency and crisis response and community safety.

I've been given the honor to lead and influence our organization towards growth and create a culture that values and honors vulnerable conversations and the diversity of our staff. When my son was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome (TS) in 2008 we found very little support. I knew we couldn't be the only family dealing with a TS diagnosis.Another TS mother and I developed a support group. My focus was to manage the following areas:•Fundraise to advance the mission of our support group •Offer resources and support to help families cope with problems associated with TS•Organize in-service presentations for educators and allied professionals•Provide information and awareness about Tourette Syndrome to area physicians, educators and students as well as newly diagnosed families and combat media stereotypes about TS•Managed web site and discussion groups •Get to know physicians who focus on TS and understand their continuum of care to share with families.•Attended national conferences in Washington DC to educate lawmakers on TS•Started and organized an annual fundraising and awareness walk Jonah’s case was severe. After consulting with top neurologists from around the country we decided the best course of action would be an experimental brain surgery which after exhausting all appeals would not be covered by insurance. Within 4 months we raised the needed $150,000 to pay for his surgery. While speaking on Capitol Hill a producer from Discovery Health approached me about doing a piece on Tourette Syndrome. Working directly with Attorney Ullenberg, I transitioned the collection division I had developed within Ullenberg Law Offices into self owned collections agency specializing in assisting commercial customers with their cash flow. Managed business accounts, drove marketing, grew customer base through a variety of outlets as well as hiring and managing all office staff. Developed the company from a simple start up to being recognized and eventually sold business to a national agency.

Oversaw a team of Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), coached customer calls, trained CSRs in sales and retention of services. Developed telemarketing campaign, oversaw marketing division, ran and evaluated monthly reports on sales and retention calls. Developed and implemented marketing strategies, assisted in the recruitment and retention of lead supervisors and staff as well as trained, supervised, evaluated staff and coached improved management skills.

I realize this isn't very relevant but it makes for some fantastic stories!
