National Water Conservation Campaign Manager
CurrentIn this newly created role for the Sierra Club, I am building out a national water conservation strategy that connects federal policies to local, state, regional, and Tribal issues. The power of the Sierra Club is our ability to reach millions of people who care about their environment and who are motivated to do their part. We specialize in outings that connect people to the very places that we fight passionately to safeguard. Our national focus is the Protect our Waters campaign. This effort launched as a project of the Clean Water for All Coalition in July 2022 to galvanize the clean water community around the Sackett v. EPA decision, which removed Clean Water Act protections for most wetlands and thousands of stream miles across the country. Since the disastrous ruling came down, the Protect Our Waters campaign has been working with organizations across the country to expand protections for these vulnerable waters at the state level, while also laying the groundwork to push for stronger federal protections.
