Trained as a trial attorney with decades of experience as national litigation counsel for international manufacturers, I have defended companies in over 35 states and Canada. I have worked with U.S. and European health and safety officials to develop, defend, and harmonize worldwide standards and address regulatory matters. I present on product safety and liability issues globally. Years ago, I took a concurrent position as in-house counsel for a manufacturer to fully appreciate what it is like to walk in my clients' shoes. While addressing safety issues and reducing a significant litigation docket that threatened the viability of the company, I learned how essential it was for legal counsel to not only provide quality legal advice but to be a good business person, strategist, resolution maker and loyal partner. That experience continues to define the way I practice today.
