I started my professional yoga career in 1997 when I became certified by Bikram Choudhury. I opened an official Bikram Yoga College of India in Louisville. Within two years, I was teaching and overseeing a full schedule of classes daily. The original studio transitioned into both Bikram and Vinyasa styles of yoga, and I continued to conduct more sophisticated trainings. I was certified by Yoga Alliance to conduct such trainings through my continuous yoga education through professionals like Jimmy Barkan, Sarah Powers, Sianna Sherman, John Friend, and Schuyler Grant.In addition, I hosted various retreats around the world and started to consult new studio owners on best practices to create a solid foundation for their own successful operations. I sold the studio in April of 2018 to focus on consulting and retreats.

In 1985, I discovered hot yoga in Fort Lauderdale and my passion for the practice inspired me to open a studio in my hometown within five years. I successfully brought this dream to life by convincing a gym owner in Louisville to let me teach twice a week in his non-heated space. Despite lacking an official certification, I immediately gained a consistent following. A year later, I opened a faux studio in an apartment by hanging a shingle and using space heaters. My following grew tenfold, and in 1997, I went to LA to get trained by Bikram Choudury. Upon my return, I then instructed some local yogis to teach alongside me. Within two years, we had a full class schedule, and for nearly 10 years, I owned the market of Louisville for Bikram Yoga. I invented the "silent class" that became popular on all schedules nationwide as well as an introductory class.At that point, I moved to the most densely populated demographic in Louisville and designed my dream studio: green and clean energy with no forced air. I named it Betsy's Hot Yoga Louisville. I brought hot Vinyasa classes on to the schedule. I developed and implemented a front desk system, highlighting customer service as the epicenter of my operation. I also developed a "desk buddy" system that was implemented by my studio manager. My overhead tripled, and so did my student base. My gross income grew up to $600,000 on average.I continually developed promotions, organized teacher trainings, and marketed retreats abroad: India, Costa Rica, Thailand, Portugal, etc.In April of 2018, I sold the studio to one of my teachers, and it continues to thrive today.

Sold long distance communication services through Westinghouse Fiber Optic networks nationwide. Achieved and maintained a six figure income.

Data Account Manager for large Investment stock firms from West Palm Beach to Miami, Florida. Achieved President’s Club every year.

Managed public relation efforts for 50 new start-up markets nationwide. Worked with local governments, newspapers, television and radio stations to develop promotions and awareness of new local markets for alternative long distance communications. Bought advertising on behalf of local marketing office.
