Recruited to join new stand-alone business unit created to unlock value of Sears’ biggest proprietary brands. Full P&L responsibility for the $3.5 billion Kenmore business with accountability for all aspects of a highly complex brand with a global supply base. Kenmore, a leader in home appliances, competes across multiple categories including laundry, cooking, dish, refrigeration, floor care, and small kitchen appliances.

Recruited to join new management team in turnaround. Member of Executive Committee with CEO and CFO. Core member of team that completed sale of company. Responsible for overall business strategy, new product development, and all marketing activities for 5 business units. Led brand and product management, e-commerce, design, and editorial teams. Role expanded to include responsibility for Digital Division.

Division Director, Home Storage; North American Consumer Products 2001 – 2003Responsible for $550 million in sales and $100 million in marketing investment. As business head of the division had P&L ownership, directly managed a 24-person marketing staff and was accountable for 500+ employees in Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, and Market Research. Owned the relationship with outside agency, Foote, Cone & Belding, with responsibility for all advertising and equity-building programs. Led the cross-functional Home Storage Management Team and served on the North American Executive Committee.General Manager, Taiwan Taipei, Taiwan 1999 – 2001Responsible for revitalizing under-performing 100+ employee subsidiary with stagnant sales and declining profits and shares. Owned full P&L, strategic direction, operating plans, and new product launches. Member Asia Pacific Executive Committee. Participated in region-wide talent development and succession planning. Corporate Account Business Manager, Field Sales Oklahoma City, OK 1997 – 1999Increased sales 7% versus region’s 1% growth in this developmental sales assignment.Additional SC Johnson RolesDirector, Worldwide Business Development (1996-97), responsible for setting global growth strategies and partnering with R&D and country managers to drive the global roll-out of successful North American products into developed markets.
