I believe in the saying ' it takes a village to raise a child' - this equates to anything in life. My thought -If you haven't helped with the solution - there's a good chance you are part of the situation:). I volunteer for the SaskTel Pioneers at many events that are sponsored by SaskTel but also several non-sponsred charitable organization events/fundraisers. I am on the Board of Directors for North Central Family Centre and Teddy Bears Anonymous. Also, I am the VP of Sports on our Regina SaskTel Pioneer Club, Allocations Director for SaskTel TelCare Regina and District and the Provincial Vice Chair and I am Secretary on our HOOP committee. Volunteering is a BIG part of my world and I have met many amazing people and travelled to several cities in North America to meet other volunteers;share stories, ideas and fellowship. The volunteer world can be a large learning canvas – even if you aren’t a good painter-which I am not! I feel it evens the playing field and brings everyone to the same level. Volunteering has enabled me to speak in front of large and small crowds, and work in many different capacities alongside a wide array of people. This is both humbling and enlightening, if you open yourself to the opportunity!My past work experience was in the Banking Industry in various roles, I have been able to utilize some of this experience in my current workplace - SaskTel. Customer Service isn’t generic, but it definitely has many similarities no matter what area of business. Working at SaskTel has enabled me to acquire my Diploma of Associate in Administration from UofR. This has most certainly been a BIG check mark off my Bucket list! SaskTel has opened many doors for me in my working career and outside the SaskTel doors. I think it is important for folks - young and old - to follow their own path in life. It is great to follow the path of people that blaze a great trail - but how amazing to be the one to blaze that trail! - Create your own footsteps! Me
