Hello and thank you for taking a look! Simply put, I would say I am a burnt marshmallow…soft-hearted with crusty edges. I am a fantasist and dreamer who prefers boundaries and rules; a dedicated and animated mass of contrasts that believes in the possibility of everything. Everything. Even Bigfoot and Banshees. I have a wide spectrum of interests and experience ranging from a nursing assistant at Marklund Children’s Home, to an on-air personality for a Chicagoland radio-station, to an IT support analyst for local government. These opportunities have not only helped to hone adaptability, organization, time-management, and the ability to work both independently and in a partnership or group, but they also speak to my character towards non-coddling compassion, anti-enabling but encouraging support, honesty, mindfulness, and a relentless pursuit to keep growing.On a more personal note, I am, for the moment, a 52 year old puff-a-lump that is learning the gifts of acceptance, gratitude, and singleness. My growth comes from Christian worship and Word studies with Life Groups. I do creative writing in children’s books and greeting cards and am taking lessons for ukulele and guitar - - I only know a smidge of Walk the Line, but it sounds great if the amp is turned up to 11. A few years ago my trajectory, thankfully, changed and I found myself trotting through fear; and it keeps coming around so I'll keep trotting - - I’d rather run through it but as I am more of a magic marker than a crayon, the best I can do is a slow skip. I'm very interested in functional nutrition (ironically) and really enjoy my book club, but more so the courageous, confident, and caring women in it. I participate in faith-based therapies and meditation; and as a nod to my Irish, Scottish, and Native American ancestry, would love to learn Gaelic and form a drum circle.
