Practice sites: Intensive Care Unit at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC and Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC •Focus on the adult patient population. Provides direct patient care services for complex critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care setting, in collaboration with the ICU attending physicians. •Performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care and discharge of patients, and provides direct patient care services. • Perform necessary skills to include, but not limited to, placement of central venous catheters, arterial lines, advanced airway placement, lumbar puncture and placement of post pyloric feeding tube.

Emergency Care Provider• Practice sites: Central Harnett Health, Betsy Johnson Regional.• Focus on all age and population groups to include all levels of acuity. • Obtaining an appropriate history, performing physical examination, formulating diagnosis, develop and implement a plan of care, performing appropriate interventions as needed, order and prescribe medications, document findings and formulate a follow-up plan of care, with physician collaboration and as allowed under state law. • Perform life-saving emergency intervention as indicated by initiating ACLS/PALS/BLS protocols • Educate clients, families regarding to individual and general health management and disease prevention.

• Focus age and population includes adults, age 18 years and greater, with primary clinical problems involving, cardiac disorders such as CAD, AMI, CHF, CM, HTN, Valvular Heart Disease Electrophysiological disturbances, Hyperlipidemia, Peripheral Vascular Disease.• Performing complete patient evaluation, including a history and physical and consults on new and established patients, outpatient and inpatient, formulating appropriate diagnosis, develop, implement and evaluate plan of care and document findings, in collaboration with the supervising physician. Transcribe and carry out orders given by supervising physicians.• Order and interpret results of various diagnostic and laboratory studies. Prescribe, administer, and dispense medications as allowed. Provide appropriate patient education concerning the need, preparation, nature, and effect of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.• Perform patient rounds at approved hospitals. Complete H&Ps and D/C summaries (WakeMed Cary, Betsy Johnson Regional, Central Harnett Hospital and Rex Hospital).• Educate clients, families regarding management of cardiac disorders, health management and disease prevention.
