Beverly Smith works as the Vice President for Volunteer Operations at Trout Unlimited (TU,) where she spearheads strategies to engage and inspire a diverse corps of volunteers and partners to advocate for and participate in the care and recovery of our lands and waters. With 17 years’ experience at TU and as a member of the senior staff, she manages significant national leadership initiatives, fundraising and budget responsibilities. Beverly is committed to supporting the dedicated volunteers and leaders of TU’s 400+ chapters, councils, alternative engagement groups, 5 Rivers college clubs and anywhere else folks show up to support the TU mission. She believes that real impact comes from collective effort and is proud to play a role in uniting communities around coldwater conservation. Beverly grew up in Charleston, SC and received a B.A. from the University of Virginia. Before coming to TU, she worked at the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance, and she has served on multiple non-profit boards. Beverly embraces the outdoor lifestyle that fuels her passion for conservation. When not behind her desk, she is most likely to be found with her husband, daughters and bird dog chasing trout, birds or elk in the wild country of Western Wyoming.
