I offer an invigorating yoga flow that starts in meditation and ends in relaxation. This class focuses on proper alignment, breathwork, and positive mental attitude. This is a good class for beginner and intermediate students.My yoga practice began in my early twenties after traveling to India and Nepal. Sitting at a Stupa under a Bodhi tree that was seeded from the exact tree Buddha became enlightened, I began to view things differently and developed a feeling of enriched compassion for all things, and the journey into the reflection of my heart, body, and soul began. It was then that I was introduced to the healing powers of yoga and the benefits it held for improving the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies. I have been grateful and fortunate to experience many yoga styles as taught by Diann Fuller, Laura Tyree, Doug Keller, JJ Gormley-Etchells, Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, and Mary Pafford, among others. I am accredited as a 200RYT through Yoga Alliance. I have taught yoga at Dragonfly Yoga Studies, Whole Life Yoga, both of Florida, and now at Eco Venao in Panama.

I began dancing at the age of two years and since have studied various forms of dance, ranging from ballet to capoeira. In 2000, I was introduced to the ancient art of belly dancing. Since then, I have had the opportunity to share my talents with Al Rakasāāt Turkish-Egyptian Dance and Drumming Company of Arizona and LuBabah Belly Dance Troupe of Tennessee. I have performed at numerous events, including the Coconino Center for the Arts of Northern Arizona, the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, Wheeler Park and Heritage Square of Flagstaff, AZ, the Nutcracker Suite in Modern Barefeet presented by Canyon Movement Company Inc. at Clifford E. White Theater in Flagstaff, AZ, Fort Tuthill Coconino County Fairgrounds, the Global Mala Celebration in Fort Walton Beach, FL, Moonlight Gladness Gathering at Graybear Holistic Retreat Center, and many Hafla's throughout the states. I currently teach a fusion of belly dance styles in public workshops and in private home settings. My love for dance makes every minute a success and every dance a celebration!

Capoeira is an Afro-Brasilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, music, and dance. It was created in Brasil by slaves brought from Africa, especially from present day Angola, sometime after the sixteenth century. Participants form a roda and take turns playing musical instruments (such as the berimbau), singing, clapping hands, or ritually dancing in pairs in the center of the circle. The dance is performed by fluid acrobatic play, feints, sweeps, and kicks. Capoeira is the warriors dance. I first experienced Capoeira in 2007 in Bahia, Brasil and since then have learned most of my moves in America from my capoeira family, Grupo Herança Guerreira. The group was created by Mestre Moçambique, a native Brasilian who has been playing since he was a young boy. Currently, I have a Corda Azul graduation, and am teaching classes in Panama.

-conducted independent research on the distribution and age of uplifted marine terraces along southwestern La Paz Bay, Mexico, and implications for active faulting-laboratory analysis (measured extent of amino acid racemization) on Chione species mollusks

-taught university-level, geology lab sections-created lesson plans-organized and lead field trips-corrected paper-spoke in public-explained basic geologic concepts and skills, such as field methods, topographic and geologic map reading, rock and mineral identification.

-trail maintenance and construction, including turnpikes, bridges, rock bars, and check damns- blazed trails-fell and bucked trees with crosscut saw-constructed water bars, retaining walls, and check steps-created full bench tread-restored wetlands and meadows

I mapped private land holdings, including property lines, rivers, drainages, forest cover, structures, and anything of the client’s interest.

-retrieved samples from Colorado River gauging stations at bottom of Grand Canyon and other remote Northern AZ locations -prepared sediment samples for laboratory grain size analysis (sieved sediments with heavy machinery, treated with chemicals)-calculated weights of samples-detailed data entery-record-keeping-helped to save the habitat of native fish of the Colorado River

-surveyed beaches in Grand Canyon for post-flood analysis-performed total station surveys-orienteering and GPS-set up and maintained remote sensing sites-aided in satellite monitoring projects-constructed maps-lived in backcountry adhering to “Leave-No-Trace” outdoor ethics-navigated and floated Colorado River, Class 5+-explored side canyons

-performed groundwater permeability testing (dye-tracing) for a proposed damn site

-instructed upper level undergraduates in the proper procedures used in a professional laboratory setting

-collected samples-prepared thin-sections-conducted laboratory analysis of samples-interpreted results using x-ray florescence-presented findings at annual meetings of Geological Society of America
