I support the Education & Development team in the implementation and review of policies and partnerships to grow an appreciation for the arts within the school space. The team also works to ensure opportunities for continuous professional development for arts professionals, to support lifelong learning.Key achievements: - Participated in the 3-year long NAC-AEP Review which led to the development of a national arts education framework to raise the quality of arts experiences for school-going children and youth. The Review involved plotting out historical developments of the scheme, focus group discussions with school leaders and teachers, analysis of grant take-up, etc. - Led the administration of the Artist-in-School Scheme (AISS), which creates opportunities for schools and artists to tailor-make projects for students. Created a teacher application guide to encourage take-up which subsequently doubled.- Coordinated the audit of the Tote Board Arts Grant involving over 300 schools, and provided analyses of grant utilisation. Areas of responsibility: grants administration, researching and writing policy papers, creating infographics, etc.

Theatre Re's "The Nature of Forgetting" is a deeply moving and poignant play that explores the effects of dementia on one man's life. The play follows Tom, a middle-aged man with early-onset dementia, as he struggles to hold onto his memories and connect with his past. Through a series of poignant and sometimes surreal scenes, we see how Tom's illness affects not just him, but also his relationships with his family and friends.I shadowed Founder and Director, Guillaume Pigé, during the production of The Nature of Forgetting. From watching the rehearsal process to touring with the team at the British Council Showcase at the Pleasance Theatre in Edinburgh, I gained valuable experience in finding sponsors, securing venue partnerships, creating marketing material, and attracting audiences.

Georgette Chen (1906-1993) was a prominent artist and arts educator who played a pivotal role in the development of modern art in Singapore and Malaysia. Born in China, Chen moved to Paris in the 1920s to study art, where she was deeply influenced by the French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements. After returning to Southeast Asia in 1930, she became a key figure in the Nanyang art movement, which sought to create a unique visual language that reflected the region's multicultural heritage.During my internship, I had the privilege of transcribing Georgette Chen's entire letter archive. Georgette was a prolific writer who corresponded with friends and family abroad using a typewriter. However, due to the fragility of the paper, the letters had to be manually transcribed for documentation purposes. In total, I transcribed about 500 letters, immersing myself in Georgette's words and gaining a deep appreciation for her life and work. Even today, I carry a piece of Georgette's legacy with me and feel grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to preserving her history.
