Integrated my diverse background in physics and rural primary care into the classroom to provide a unique educational experience for students. Drawing from quality research, real-world clinical scenarios, and both others' and my own translations of Classical Chinese texts, I helped facilitate a learning experience for acupuncture students that is rooted in both ancient wisdom and modern scientific principles.My commitment to fostering critical thinking led me to develop dynamic assessment tools and projects that empowered students to explore the specific health landscapes in their communities and the health goals identified by county, state, and federal organizations. With my assistance, students were able to design real-world projects that integrate Classical Chinese medicine treatments with current systematic reviews, and meta-analyses to demonstrate that they could apply their knowledge in a framework that is financially feasible and beneficial for their community.During the pandemic, I leveraged Moodle as a dynamic learning management system, orchestrating engaging remote and in-person classroom experiences. This flexibility not only sustained educational continuity during remote learning but also enhanced learning outcomes in post-pandemic classrooms.As the chair of a capstone project focused on animal rights, I supported a student who advocated for biodiversity and climate change awareness within herbal prescribing practices, highlighting the importance of ethical considerations in the field.My dedication to innovative pedagogy and clinical relevance underscores my commitment to advancing integrative medicine education while addressing pressing global issues.
