In my role with this global corporation, I ensure a safe and secure environment for our personnel across multiple locations. One of my proudest achievements has been building a robust security team. I hired, trained, and developed 20 security officers and four junior managers while creating effective staffing plans and refining security policies and procedures for our Chicago headquarters, which boasts around 1,100 personnel. To enhance security department efficiency, I conducted a comprehensive review of existing programs and successfully eliminated outdated and wasteful policies and procedures. I've also authored a behavior book that outlines policies and procedures for identifying and mitigating risks, particularly in the case of armed employees.For continuous improvement, I've instituted a new training program and established daily huddles, monthly one-on-one sessions, and individual improvement plans, resulting in a marked enhancement in our security team's performance. In a bid to optimize our resources, I spearheaded an effort to reduce overtime costs and enhance officer engagement. This was achieved by identifying vendor waste and researching high-quality service providers at lower costs. Collaborating with the Chicago Police Department to develop active shooter drills and staff education involving CPD SWAT teams, the Chicago Fire Department, and the Office of Radiological Services further highlights our commitment to safety and security. As I provided leadership and direction for officers across several plants throughout the district, my primary focus was to improve awareness, increase safety, and minimize risk in these areas. One of my significant contributions was the creation and launch of a new Field Training Officer (FTO) program. This initiative greatly enhanced our training processes and ensured that officers were well-prepared for their duties.During my time in this role, I was proud to have received over 100 CHAPD Honorable Mentions and Department Commendations, which served as a testament to my commitment and dedication. I was responsible for ensuring the proper response of 25 law enforcement officers during major investigations and critical incidents, including arrests, medical treatment, and inter-departmental/inter-agency coordination.Recognizing the importance of ongoing training and development, I regularly assessed the training needs of officers, coordinated officer training, and conducted one-on-one and group training meetings to ensure that personnel were well-informed about special orders and procedures.In addition to these responsibilities, I frequently collaborated with detectives on special investigations and provided direct assistance on the scene at incident sites. I also coordinated personal protection for dignitaries, including judges, to ensure their safety. During my tenure from 1994 to 1998, serving on an FBI task force, I had the privilege of working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, including FBI Agents, Cook County Sheriffs, Illinois State Police, IRS Agents, and various CPD districts. Together, we collaborated to investigate violent crimes and criminal activity while collecting invaluable data on criminal enterprises and high-tier gang members. The role was heavily focused on security management, risk assessment, and law enforcement.Our primary mission was to engage in covert operations and plain-clothes details as part of a long-term investigation to assess and dismantle narcotics networks, illegal firearms trafficking, clandestine clubs, and other criminal operations. I conducted physical surveillance, canvassed crime scenes, and coordinated investigations with multiple agencies. By tracking trends in criminal activity, such as burglaries, narcotics, and firearms-related incidents, I was able to provide real-time intelligence on potential violence.One of my key responsibilities was to interview offenders, substantiate our investigative findings and prepare evidence for court proceedings. I took pride in ensuring a meticulous trail of criminal responsibility by developing comprehensive case files for each investigation. My experience in this role underscored the importance of leadership, team building, risk assessment, and security/safety management in the realm of law enforcement.
