Worked on a multi-million dollar rollout of Advanced Process Control and Real Time Optimization for the largest Petrochemical Producer in Latin America.Key member of the Advanced Process Control team for a world scale olefins unit. Participated in the design, plant testing, model development and commissioning of the following controllers, Furnaces, Quench Tower, Cold Side, and Feed Maximization. The solution was delivered using DMCplus, Aspen Watch, IP.21, Smart Step, Spyro for APC. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget.Responsible for overall site coordination. The team consisted of about 20 AspenTech engineers. Ensuring that everything was ready for the team when they arrived on site was a large and complicated effort. My responsibility was to work with the customer to ensure that instrumentation, feed rates, and overall unit readiness was in a state to maximize the productivity of the team while on site.Developed a training course for plant operations for all the DMCplus controllers implemented in the Olefins unit– CBOST (Computational Based Operator System Training).Developed and delivered all training materials during the implementation of the controllers to the production engineering staff and operators.Participated in a benefits analysis of a methanol unit in Argentina. During the course of the study I conducted site interviews, collect important process data, determined key areas of benefits, wrote benefits report and design document. The customer proceeded with the project.

Process Control and Automation of 10 Pilot Units for Petrobras (CENPES research center). I implemented FIX32, a supervisory system, for each pilot unit to serve as an interface communication layer between the operation staff and field instrumentation. FIX32 was installed on a CD600 DCS (a Petrobras technology) and programming them was required to implement the solution.
