• Lead Scientist in charge of the release of raw materials, bulk materials and finished products. • Ultimate responsibility for the UPLC analysis of regulated preservatives. • Developed novel method for the analysis of regulated preservatives in consumer products.

• Sixth employee at this start up inhalation pharmaceutical company, involved in top level planning on lab creation, generic drug development, and personnel acquisition. • Early responsibilities included reverse engineering for drug, delivery and device, analytical method development, candidate interviewing, CRO/CMO management, lab design, and instrument installation. • Post startup, my duties included advanced trouble shooting in chemical analysis/characterization, instrument calibration/maintenance/use and GMP manufacturing. • Trained and led fellow scientists in creating Protocols/SOPs/STPs, and preparing High-level Presentations/Reports. • Sent on special assignment to our partner (CMO) Celon Pharma in Poland to train scientists on DOE and execution of PSD protocols for API release. • Worked with our method validation team during analytical method development, verification, validation, and method transfer to our CMO. • Became lead formulator, tasked with supervising our CMO during the production of exhibit batches. Then led our formulation team in R&D batch, exhibit batch and GMP batch manufacturing. • Reverse engineered products for both our DPI and pMDI generic lines. • Managed products through life cycle; reverse engineering, characterization, formulation, manufacture, stability, and release.

• Began with the company’s biological research team, duties included microbial and biochemical analysis (live culture suspensions, media plate making, colony counts, in vivo viral introduction, ELISA’s, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, qPCR, flow cytometry). • Moved to the company’s independent biochemical research in Proteomics. Built a library of raw salivary and blood serum samples across various military research protocols. • Tasked with generating methods for the purification, concentration, and extraction of low molecular weight peptides for final biomarker discovery (UPLC/Fraction Collection/MS). • Responsible for running the research laboratory including new lab set-up, protocol generation, archived method updates, experimental sample stability testing, as well as maintenance/calibration of laboratory instrumentation. • Contributed to a paper that was accepted and published in the Journal of Sleep Medicine.

• Started in the pharmaceutical company’s Quality Control laboratory, running Pharmacopeia Compendial methods (USP/EP/BP/JSP). • Early tasks involved water quality testing (TOC) and pharmaceutical raw material release (chemical characterization, FTIR, NMR, AA, melting point, density, LOD, ROI, pH titration). • Moved on to perform the laboratory’s more strenuous chemical testing requirements including: HPLC (Assay), GC/MS (Residual Solvents), Reference Standard Qualification, Trypsin Assay, Arsenic and Lead Content. • Gained experience running and maintaining various laboratory instruments (GC and HPLC-RI/PDA/TUV) along with proficiency in instrument software (Empower). • Became familiarized with the various laboratory regulations (c-GMP, c-GLP, HAZMAT) and regulating bodies (FDA, DEA, EPA, OSHA).
