I developed a health education plan for a statewide biomonitoring project to ensure best practices were used to make all deliverables effectively and accessibly communicate project information. I am designing and evaluating results reporting materials to communicate participants’ results clearly and openly for over 100 chemicals. Working to promote awareness of multiple public health efforts by developing brochures, posters, press releases, and social media campaigns. Also, I am coordinating weekly meetings to discuss outreach and health education efforts for projects by generating agendas and facilitating discussion. I examined the recruitment materials for a biomonitoring project via focus groups and integrated the feedback to encourage increased enrollment in the project

I worked at Gannon University to plan and execute year-round after-school programming for under-served middle school girls to educate, engage, and empower them to enjoy physical activity, stay socially connected, and encourage healthy food choices. To run this program, I managed 40+ volunteers by creating volunteer recognition and leadership opportunities, debriefing and reflecting after each program session, and providing clear roles and instructions. I initiated grant applications, developing community partnerships, and identifying sustainable funding sources in order to support upcoming programming and program expansion. Developed and implemented a training program that prepared volunteers to serve as mentors who appropriately managed disruptive behavior, resolved interpersonal conflicts, and positively engaged the students. Lastly, I collected, aggregated, and analyzed STRONG programmatic data and created a report to assist in determining improvements to achieve desired program outcomes.

Aided a community archeology project in excavating and classifying multiple archeological artifacts from the early twelfth century. Participated in outings to promote cultural growth and understanding beyond the stereotypical ideas that I might have held about Ireland.
