I’ve worked in our family business, All Aboard Seafoods since I was 16. I started part-time while I was still at school and have learned all about the fast-food business through on-the-job training and attending TAFE. I achieved Cert III & IV Diploma in Hospitality through the Training Institute of Western Australia and get to apply what I’ve learned, while working in the background of our busy fast food outlet. My preferred place is in the kitchen preparing food rather than serving out front. I enjoy the discipline of cooking and making sure our kitchen conforms to the highest of hygiene standards. But, on a Friday night and on weekends, when it’s busy, I’m happy to help out front whenever I’m needed.To me, preparing food for customers in a timely and professional manner is satisfying. I particularly enjoy helping put together the large orders we get through the catering side of our business. Whether it’s a wedding, engagement or birthday party or a special event, I like the challenge of bringing all the elements together as we work to a deadline to deliver for big and small events, some of which we also serve the food we prepare.It is very satisfying to see people genuinely enjoy the food we create and to receive such positive feedback on the taste and presentation of our product. Outside of work I enjoy shopping, movies and babysitting my young nephews and nieces.
