As Director of Coffee Operations, I'm responsible for the coffee program at all Golly G's locations. This includes: overseeing the training of baristas, hiring of baristas, coffee standards, drink recipes, etc.

As the pastor of Micro Churches (Missional Communities) I oversee the encouragement and training of the 24 Church Micro Church leaders. I'm also in charge of the overall vision for Micro Churches and with God's help hope to see 24 Church continually launch new Micro Churches in the Pleasant View / Cheatham County community.

Bearded Man Studio is the freelance graphic / web design studio of Ben Adkison. I started Bearded Man in 2005 as a side project because I had a passion for design, a desire to help friends, and a need to make extra money. Over the years, my skill set has improved, my love of design has increased, and my client list has continued to grow. As the church planting strategist at NBA, I help minister to churches and church planters who are part of the Nashville Baptist Association. I also help assess new church planters and train sponsoring churches as they prepare to plant future churches.

As the director of communications at Resonate Church, I’m in charge of all the print, web, podcast, and social media communications at the church.

As a researcher for Ed Stetzer, I worked on a variety of projects that included sermon research briefs and book reviews. I also helped book travel arrangements for Ed during 2010.

Basileia Church was a Southern Baptist Church that began in March 2011 with a desire to reach the increasingly de-churched, post-modern, and skeptical demographic of East Nashville with the gospel of Jesus Christ. During the two years that Basileia existed it ministered to 20-40 individuals weekly.The vision of the church was to represent the here / not yet reality of the Kingdom of God (Basileia means “kingdom”). We focused primarily on going into the culture of Nashville to live life, share the gospel, and demonstrate its power to those around us. Basileia was a church driven by missional communities and the gospel of Jesus Christ as the cure for all our problems.As the lead / planting pastor I literally did just about everything you can imagine including: preaching weekly, developing the vision for the church, leading a missional community, leading staff meetings, graphic design, website design, writing the budget, hiring an accountant, worship service planning, fulfilling legal responsibilities, pastoral counseling, and more.

24church began in 2005 with the intent purpose of reaching the unchurched and de-churched in the Pleasant View area. It currently has an attendance between 400-500 persons and continues to have a heart to reach the world with the gospel.As discipleship pastor at 24church, I fulfilled a wide variety of roles including: small groups pastor, kids pastor, student pastor, college pastor, curriculum author, graphic designer, web designer, and digital audio editor. As part of the pastoral team I was regularly given opportunities to preach during the Sunday morning worship services and often helped with counseling duties.

While at Starbucks I worked as both a barista, brewing and serving coffee, and also as a shift supervisor in charge of opening and closing the store, managing other baristas, and counting and managing the safe. I also completed the Coffee Masters training program while working at Starbucks.

Collierville FBC is an established church in the suburbs of Memphis, TN. They have the privilege of residing in an area of extreme growth and prosperity, but they have the challenge of trying to contextualize the gospel to people who seem to have everything. At the time that I was part of the church they had an average attendance of about 1200 persons.As an associate minister to students, I helped organize and lead worship weekly with the student ministry band, taught infrequently, discipled students who showed leadership potential, organized trips and events, and occasionally wrote small group curriculum. An example of an event that I organized was a Disciple Now Weekend that included hiring both a band and speaker, writing the curriculum, and organizing and leading over 40 college and adult volunteers. From September 2004 through February 2005, I acted in an interim role while the ministry transitioned from one lead student pastor to another. The student ministry at Collierville FBC ministered to an average of 150-200 students weekly.Having been a part of the student ministry staff at Collierville for three years, in August 2005, I helped launch a middle school ministry that ministered to 80-100 students weekly. Prior to this launch, the middle school and high school ministries had been part of the same ministry. This position included the following responsibilities: developing the overall vision for the ministry, teaching twice a week, organizing volunteer teams and Sunday school teachers, organizing trips and events, and creating and implementing outreach strategies to reach middle school students in the Collierville,TN area.
