More than 30 years of journalism experience, starting as co-operative education student at Northeastern. As a sports journalist, rose up from a staff writer of a small five-day daily to become executive editor of a mid-size metropolitan daily sports section in the suburbs of Boston. Then moved to the sports desk of the Boston Herald, where I honed my editing/headline writing skills, working with a large staff of writers and editors covering all the major sports. After being laid off in late 2018, I turned my attention to writing/editing work in the communications field. I found my editing, writing and professional skills transferred seamlessly to this endeavor. In June 2023, took advantage of an opportunity to jump back into the sports journalism ranks at the best sports department in New England, The Boston Globe. So happy my career has come full circle, working part-time remotely on the sports desk.Specialties: Over 30 years of writing and editing experience, nearly half of that in a managerial capacity; pagination experience; desktop publishing; some marketing, promotion and public relations experience. Experience in InCopy and InDesign, Methode and Arc; Quark Express, Mircrosoft Office products and working on Macs as well as PCs.
