Built local development data center in Burlington, Vermont with NetApp 3250 and 8060 (4 node ) HA cluster, running OnTap 8.3 with 580 TB of storage, 1000+ VM's, and 350 active Development and QA environments to support 25 independent Agile scrum teams. Created a scaleable and redundant solution to meet the needs of 200+ developers and 600+ internal and external facing clients. Managed hardware, infrastructure and application layers with three core teams responsible for ensuring the ongoing daily development and productivity of multi-office international resources.Drove forward leading edge post release solutions developed to increase client satisfaction by improving the upgrade, eliminating failures and decreasing time. Lead architect responsible for the initial TouchWorks POC for moving our important Healthcare clients from on-premise to a virtual solution. Created "TouchWorks in a Box", supporting a virtualized migration to any compute and storage system as well as a hyper-converged that could be placed on site and attached to the LAN for DR purposes or eventual Cloud migration. Lead architect responsible for TouchWorks POC to Azure. Attended Microsoft Hack-a-thon event and brought back usable Powershell code base for ongoing development of the remaining architecture required for both infrastructure and application layer level deployments into Azure. We can now build a new standardized TouchWorks environment of any size or scale, in less than 1 day.

Back then, all servers manually built, upgraded and maintained with none of the current modern technologies like virtualization, process automation, system disk copy, cloning or any of the like tools created over the years.Programmed Cisco VPN devices and PIX firewalls for security. Managed in-house and client Microsoft servers running IIS, SQL, Micrsoft clustering and load balancing software.

Travelled to customer sites, presented to physicians, nurses and upper management staff on software and it’s features. Developed proposals and pricing for prospects, closed deals, installed software, did on-site training of staff and ongoing upgrades to the systems. The group of 15 people brought in over 17 million in revenue to the business.

Developed and maintained new sections of code for the upcoming release of medical software. Followed industry standard coding and testing policies and guidelines. Use planning and time management to tie together personal development with the rest of the base software functionality at regularly scheduled intervals.

This was the starting point of my career into the Healthcare Information Technology field. Was working with MUMPS programming language, running on VAX/VMS. Helped support hospital clients on ADT/HPA software (Admit/Discharge/Transfer and Hospital Patient Accounting), and create custom code as needed to support their daily processes.
