About Bill Durham

Experienced finance and accounting professional with more than 30 years experience focused on higher education. In addition to my professional accomplishments, I have served throughout my career on several not-for-profit board of directors, including Appalachian State University Board of Trustees, Appalachian State University Foundation, Appalachian State University Alumni Association (served as president 2011-2012), The NC Chamber (served as chair of the young executives forum), The Friends of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences (North Carolina’s oldest and largest state museum) (served as treasurer and chair of the finance committee 2010-2016) and currently serving in my third term on the Union County Chamber Board (served as board chair 2019) . My past experience in both public practice and service on multiple boards of directors has provided me with the skills and strategic vision necessary to keep pace with the unprecedented growth of programs, students and facilities at Wingate University.
