Oak Pointe Country Club is a Brighton Golf Course that offers 36 holes of Championship Golf. Our golf courses were designed by famous architects Jerry Matthews and Arthur Hills. Whether playing the traditional style of our Matthews’ re-designed Championship Course or the naturally beautiful and challenging Hills-designed Honors Course, every shot you take leaves a lasting impression.You don’t have to be a long hitter to score well on the Honors Course, but accuracy is rewarded. The undulating greens are very challenging and test anyone’s short game. You’ll certainly remember the Honors Course for the beauty and challenge that truly set it apart from other golf courses.The Championship Course is unrecognizable from its pre-renovation form. Renowned designer Jerry Matthews mastered the use of existing terrain and added 49 bunkers to a rolling piece of land that winds you through the trees and valleys of the Lake Region of Livingston County. The narrow fairways and natural heather put a premium on accuracy. The true tests of this 6,504-yard golf course are the greens, which allow a good birdie, but also require some cautious short putts. Both golf courses at Oak Pointe make our golf club the place to play when looking for superb golf.

CFO and COO responsibilities for a small management company operating a 54-hole multiple facility operation at Whispering Willows, Fox Creek and Idyl Wyld Golf Courses. After 23 cumulative years served, I am happy to say that a team of great people have led to many accomplishments here at the City of Livonia Golf Division. I am proud of what was achieved during my tenure and pleased to highlight the achievements provided below. Based on an independently conceived idea (presented to the City of Livonia in 1997 and acknowledged as actionable and critical in 2000), steered a top-to-bottom restructuring that transformed the underperforming, municipally run organization into a profitable, privately managed business with a unique business model tied to the Parks and Recreation Department. Navigated the complicated transition from a union to non-union workplace. Hired, trained, and motivated 100+ personnel and countless volunteers in revamping three golf courses, facilities, grounds, and all associated processes and practices from the ground up.** Managed every dollar of the operational and capital expenditure budgets to bolster cash flow and minimize costs; presented both budgets-with consistently better-than-expected results-to the Livonia municipal government, which led to contract renewals extended through 2029.** Pioneered and directed major construction and renovation projects including a new clubhouse facility at Whispering Willows Golf Course, and new cart-storage facilities ** Identified and capitalized on market-building and revenue-generating opportunities such as expanded programming for youth and adult golfers, in-school clinics, Family Fun Days, field trips, leagues, tournaments, and special events.

A first-class facility with a 27-hole golf club, 200+ banquet room, grill-room, 36-hole miniature golf and lighted driving range.Directed all business functions as well as golf operations, special events, and food and beverage for public, high-end, 27-hole golf facility (playing over 60,000 rounds annually) and family entertainment center with miniature golf, lighted driving range, on-site eatery, and large-scale event and banquet capabilities. Managed budgets, accounting, and financial controls. Designed new programs and taught group and individual lessons. Led 60 employees and 80 volunteers.** Reenergized the workforce by responding to a major staff turnover (initiated prior to joining the company) with a full-scale recruitment effort that resulted in a team-oriented atmosphere and newly established synergy between managers and staff.** Promoted the image and reputation of the facility by mobilizing employees and volunteers in maintaining and updating gardens, marketing food and retail items, and providing unparalleled service to customers.** Grew event and tournament participation by 25% through attention-grabbing marketing programs, and coordinating 200+ annual events for corporate clients and members of the local community.** Increased wedding and non-golf events by over 40%.
