Having had careers in retail entrepreneurship, local government and residential real estate sales, I have now walked the Camino de Santiago five times through France, Portugal and Spain. I have become so engrossed by the Great Age of Pilgrimage in the Middle Ages that I now engaged in writing my doctoral dissertation in Medieval History at Stony Brook University, focused on the historical changed in the genre of pilgrimage narratives, especially as impacted by the two great technological innovations of Gutenberg's movable type and the introduction of print-on-demand and electronic books in the past two decades. At the same time, I handle the business bookkeeping for my wife Amei Wallach as she makes feature-length documentary films and have maintained my real estate license and continue to assist North Fork residents and potential newcomers with their real estate needs.
