Intensity Frontier Department - Nova Project

responsible for: project planning and associated schedule development; work with technical managers to develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedules, resource needs, and budgets; principle scheduler responsible for developing and maintaining the baseline and forecast resource-loaded schedules for the Nova Project, a multi-year 278 million dollar detector project for particle physics research now under construction, managed by Fermilab and funded by the U.S. Department of Energy – Office of Science.

Btev Project

responsible for: project schedule development and management, project progress reporting; work with subproject managers to develop their detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedules, resource needs, and budgets for the 200 million dollar BTeV detector project.

D-Zero Detector Upgrade Project

responsible for: project schedule development and management, project progress reporting, coordinating project environment, safety and health reviews for the D-Zero detector upgrade project; developing safety-related detector operations procedures; conducting safety-related training for D-Zero Department personnel and facility users from outside Fermilab.

Research Division

responsible for: developing and implementing safety policies and procedures for the Research Division; monitoring Research Division compliance with Laboratory policies and procedures; advising other senior Research Division management on ES&H matters; performing Monte Carlo radiation shielding calculations for experiments and beam lines; Senior Safety Officer for Research Division.

Research Division

responsible for supervising safety personnel in all areas of conventional and radiation safety for the Research Division; developing and implementing safety policies and procedures for the Research Division; monitoring compliance with Laboratory policy and procedures; performing Monte Carlo shielding calculations for experiments and beam lines; Senior Safety Officer for Research Division.

Safety Section

responsible for: supervising the radiation physics staff, supervising the personal dosimetry program of the Laboratory; supervising a program of specialized radiation monitoring for the Fermilab site; monitoring Laboratory compliance with DOE and Laboratory polices and procedures through a program of internal audits and appraisals in radiation safety; editor, Fermilab Radiation Guide.

Radiation Physics Group - Safety Section

responsible for: radiation shielding design, specialized radiation monitoring and instrument development, and related computer software development and maintenance.

Conducted basic research in experimental heavy-ion nuclear physics at the ANL ATLAS accelerator; conducted basic research in medium-energy physics at Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility (LAMPF).
