Started with the City as an Electronics Technician, promoted to Electronics Specialist, then to Manager in 2011. My shop is responsible for both 911 centers in Whatcom County, as well as the City fleet of radios including Fire, Police, Parks, Public Works, and any other department. I have to work with vendors on infrastructure outside the City but connected to dispatch to resolve their problems. We are equipped to certify RADAR and LIDER speed measuring devices and I testify in traffic court as to those certifications when infractions are challenged. When I started here the shop was a combined radio / signal shop. So I have experience with traffic control systems. I've been trained in fiber optic installations and troubleshooting and did quite a bit of that work during my first few years here. Due to staffing limitations, my current daily activities include that of a Manager, Supervisor, and Electronics Specialist. I stay pretty busy.

All manner of vehicle installations, radio repair, tower work, etc.

Performed as a sub-contractor for SND Communications before he got a shop and was set up to hire me on as an employee. I was doing installations and a little bit of bench repair. In addition, I did quite a bit of automotive repair during this time.

Very brief stay due to company folding up. I did get my start here moving from all installations to bench work on portables and pagers.

My introduction to this industry. Started with installations. Was trained in tower work and did quite a bit of climbing while I was there. I moved on because I got tired of the commute from Bellingham.
