Short term contract position with OBox at Fidelity Investments implementing the Zabbix monitoring and automation platform within the PKI operations team

As a principal security architect in Software Infrastructure Engineering I am responsible for securing commodity and custom developed systems behind the global Sabre brand. I design solutions to protect critical payment and business information from loss and review proposed software architecture to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards. I maintain core resources used in guaranteeing compliance with PCI, SOX, FISMA and other required security standards. I prepare and submit documentation for compliance assurance to outside vendors.

With a small team we created and institutionalized performance measurement as a development gateway preventing significant cost overruns through real performance data. Using formal and informal methods I improved the performance of complex distributed transaction software systems. Through analysis of the software, database, OS and system architecture I designed and implemented stress tests that would identify the root cause(s) of poor performance.

A privately held manufacturing firm designing and manufacturing components for the emerging custom motorcycle market. I designed and developed electronic and mechanical components and accessories for sale to the public as well as complete turnkey custom motorcycles.

As CTO and HIPAA compliance officer for the health management business I directing the staff through a complete system overhaul while implementing the at the time new HIPAA standards achieving our first compliance review while meeting with and negotiating with state government compliance teams.For the parent organization, a holding company with over 20 business units I functioned as the technologist across many industries ranging from mortgage processing and industrial controls to software as a service industries.I was the primary technical analyst advising the board on acquisitions and feasibility studies for new lines of business.Acting as the technology chief adviser during the start-up phase for 4 newly founded firms under our holding company during my tenure.

I managed a staff of engineers, designers and programmers at this small start-up virtual reality and gaming technologies research firm.We produced a complete system for advertising within online games based upon my patents which included developing the ad serving technologies and usage profiling software to manage the buyers ad spending and reach.Prototype and production design for Virtual Motion™, a patented direct brain interface system.I developed medical education simulation software and hardware working with both orthopedics and endoscopy.I engineered and coordinated one of the first live concerts broadcast over the Internet in 1996.
