Currently supports senior leaders in a variety of transportation organizations. In 2008 the U.S. Secretary of Transportation appointed him to the five-member Independent Review Team (IRT) to assess the FAA's commercial airline regulatory oversight. From 2009 to 2012 he served as an executive advisor to the FAA senior leadership on air traffic operations matters. This included benchmarking with the FAA’s Canadian, European, and Australian air navigation and safety oversight counterparts. In 2010 he was one of four recognized safety experts selected by the Washington Metro's board of directors to provide operational safety leadership guidance for the organization’s senior management and staff.
