I am also the designer, developer and debugger of the auction system that we use. I also lease the auction system to others who are interested in running auctions. I have fun probably 300 auctions since I initially created the system.

Pathworks Server: Senior member of the Pathworks for VMS development team designing and porting a NT Advanced Server (V3.51) to OpenVMS VAX and AXP. Primary areas of responsibility included design, implementation and debugging the host based UI programs to manage local and remote NT servers. Also ported a Netware File Server to OpenVMS. Highly respected team member who is sought out for skills ranging from C coding practices and C compiler issues to knowledge of the build system and VMS. Code reviewer for the team.

VAX/VMS Systems: Senior member of the development team in the System Management Expertise Center designing a new installation and software management tool as a replacement for VMSINSTAL. A leader in the design of the non-procedural expression language. Designed and prototyped the Startup Agent. Ported the application and the UI to OpenVMS/AXP. Consultant on the team for all areas of design, standards, implementation and UI issues.

Technical Languages: Senior member of the VAX Ada project responsible for front end development and tools interface and integration. Enhanced the Ada IDE. Added a spelling correction heuristic to the parser. Measured and tuned the performance of the compiler itself. Team leader for the compiler conversion from VAX/VMS to RISC/Ultrix. Leader in driving coding standards and code reviews for the project. Mentor for new-hires on the project.

Educational Services: Project leader for the architecture design and implementation of an interpreter for a new Computer based instruction authoring language to interface with IVIS (Interactive Video Information System). Developed a p-machine interpreter for this language to run on VAX and Professional-350 computers. Worked on developing the DESIGN programming language and preprocessor.

Internal Software Support Group: Project leader for Internal Software Support Group. Responsible for all software aspects for 40 Internal DECsystem-10 sites, including monitors, utilities, and languages. Consultant to the group in all areas of technical decisions. Participated in Software Engineering in Marlboro on TOPS-10 7.01 and Galaxy 4.1 projects. Designed and implemented a software disk cache for TOPS-10 version 7.02.

Internal Software Support Group: Responsible for software efforts of ISSG and interface with Software Engineering in Marlboro to incorporate internal requirements in DIGITAL software. Project leader for internal field test efforts of TOPS-10 7.01, TOPS-10 RP20 LIR, and Galaxy 4.1.

Designed and implemented faculty/room/course scheduling system.

Accountable for contributing to the effective performance of the University DECsystem-1090 SMP computer system by maintaining and enhancing the software tools and operating system. Position required independent software design and development, and had authority for final approval of all modifications to existing utilities and applications software.

Group IPC: Responsible for maintenance of in-house data center computer systems. Required knowledge of the operating system, related CUSPs, and some hardware background to interface with Field Service engineers for resolution of system problems.

Duties included technical assistance at all levels for the user community, knowledge of applications packages such as SPSS, and control of internal billing programs.

As a student of Tufts, I provided technical support to the users of the computer center, as well as designed useful utilities for the TOPS-10 system.
