William F. “Bill” Mitchell founded Environmental Tectonics Corporation (ETC™) in 1969. Under his direction, the Company has evolved into a world leader in providing simulation systems for aerospace training and research, aviation medicine, disaster management and motion-based ride entertainment, with the most recent contract award for the United States Air Force and United States Navy at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, for training and research simulation systems totaling over 100 Million dollars.ETC’s Control System Group (CSG) product lines provide Clients with steam and ethylene oxide sterilization systems, automotive and HVAC test equipment, and hyperbaric chambers for clinical and diving applications. With two wholly owned subsidiaries (Turkey and Poland) and one division (USA), additional regional offices are present in over ten (10) countries with ETC products in over eighty (80) foreign countries worldwide.Currently, Mr. Mitchell serves as the organizations Chairman of the Board, President, and Chief Executive Officer. His primary interests revolve around remaining an active and contributing member of the aviation training and research community. Focusing on promoting awareness of the advantages and need for more effective advanced flight training utilizing true physiological stress, he drives the effort behind ETC’s R & D and production of simulators for this use setting an industry precedent in how research and training is conducted for the newest aircraft coming on the market.Mr. Mitchell’s educational background includes a B.S. cum laude, in Physics from the Drexel Institute of Technology.
