Profile bio

About William Molnar

I’ve been on active duty in the Air Force for 20 years. I’m in a transitional phase in life and will be retiring in 2023. I'm after a change of pace in life intend to move into tradework upon leaving the military. My hope is that this will culminate with a career in non-profit auto repair for disadvantaged families. Most of my career has been spent in Command and Control Operations, which I usually summarize as meaning “information up and orders down.” Attributes that have helped me succeed in my line of work are the ability to assertively speak truth to power, an aptitude for contingency planning, and the ability to think quickly from a strategic perspective. High profile events require rapid, concise communication of unpleasant realities. This can be difficult for reserved, politically-concerned people. I’m no politician, and that allows me get a message across quickly. I always try to look ahead to identify the “nightmare scenario” so that I can develop and codify plans to cope with them which enables those who finally encounter that situation to react decisively. Finally, the experience to address situations for which there is no checklist while balancing the interests of several thousand people and considering a catastrophe as a whole allows one’s superiors to sleep well at night knowing that their trusted agent will act in the interest of the organization.
