I have worked as a teacher in the areas of English language arts, reading interventions, and ESOL.

I currently work with elementary and middle school children who are learning English. ESOL stands for English to Speakers of Other Languages. I help these students acquire skills for speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. I also help their teachers in planning and implementing strategies, activities, and authentic assessments, so that these English learners can be successful in academic and social environments. I have also worked with professional learning committees in the areas of-- literacy (schoolwide curricular development, strategies, activities, and projects related to reading and writing skills);-- monitoring ESOL advanced students (following students' grades and other data related to language acquisition);-- special education (meetings regarding students with special education services, strategies, activities, and assessments).
