Bill heads the client consultation, bluesky concepts, and project development at Platt Design. Bill’s 43 years of experience with new technologies and creative development give him a special insight as an industry leader. His technical, theoretical, and entertainment background along with those many years of hands-on experience in design and production, and his broad practical knowledge, ensures the client of quality results. Bill also has a musical performance background.Bill spent 14 years with the Walt Disney Company as Director of Entertainment for Project Development and planning of new Theme Parks and Entertainment Attractions and played a key roll in California at the famed Walt Disney Imagineering think tank. Interfacing with the concept designers, architects, and engineering groups as a creative technology and production expert, Bill was involved with concept development of the Disney Theme Parks. This included Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studio Tour, Pleasure Island, Euro Disney, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and several yet to be built parks for Europe and Asia. Bill spent time on special R&D projects of new technologies developed for the "Magic" behind the scenes for sound, special effects, and video projections. Bill was the Broadway Sound Designer for "Beauty and the Beast", Disney's first Broadway Musical. which opened in New York City in April 1994.Before coming to Disney in 1986, Bill concentrated on Sound Design and Producing. Bill received Two Emmy Awards in 1984 and 1985 for Best Television Sound with an additional 4 separate nominations. As a designer, he has conceived, designed, and implemented more than 1000 facilities and shows since he began his career in 1967. This includes large arenas, stadiums, churches, corporate facilities, Auto shows, and theaters. Bill has helped produce the Pori Jazz Festival in Finland, for over 28 years. It is the second largest Jazz Festival in the world.
